Bruno Mars Vocal Range

Vocal Type: Light tenor 3octaves  C3-C6
Vocal Strengths: Bruno Mars' voice is eerily similar to that of a young Michael Jackson, circa Off The Wall, both having easy breezy tenors. Voice doesn't pack too much of a punch but it has lasting stamina and dexterity, thus making it easily capable of fast melismas. Voice has a romantic, somewhat-feminine undertone that adds a comforting sensitivity to his recordings. Ability to hit a D5 (live) in full voice with accurate pitch.
Vocal Weaknesses: Voice is top heavy with not much support on the bottom, resulting in his low notes losing their weight, clarity, and control. Though a skillful belter, Mars' voice lacks in the power department. Habitual smoking causes notes above D#5 or Eb5 to sound unpleasantly flat. Boyish voice sometimes sounds a little too pubescent.

Beyonce Vocal Range

Vocal Type: Mezzo- soprano
Vocal Range: 3.3 octaves and 2 semitones. Ab2- Eb6 (approx)
Whistle Register: No
Longest Note: 14 seconds - 'Flaws And All' (live)
Vocal Pluses:Incredible vocal flexibility and dexterity that allows for pin-point accurate and fast melisma without issue. The chest voice is clear, smooth, and elastic, being able to reach notes above a D5 without the tone of the voice suffering via brilliant mixing of the chest and head voice. The head voice itself is bright, full and resonant with a smooth texture and a warm timbre. Overall a technical singer with amazing control and a stunning vibrato.
Vocal Negatives: Voice can become shrill when belted higher notes are used minus the vibrato.

Kelly Clarkson Vocal Range

Vocal Type: Soprano
Vocal Range: 3 octaves and 2 notes E3- G6
Whistle Register: Yes
Vocal Pluses: A slightly smoky, confident midrange that has a dark colouring, and a weightiness. The chest voice has a rocky, coarse edge and is extended high up into the fifth octave via mixing with the head voice. The head notes themselves are full and heavy.

The voice is able to sing complex melisma, and has the endurance to hold sustained notes. It has an earthy texture throughout, bar the head voice, that gives it its distinct character.

Vocal Negatives:Chest notes can sometimes sound like they are being forced, and the head voice sounds disconnected from the range.

Katy Perry Vocal Range

Vocal Type: Contralto
Vocal Range: 3 Octave, 5 tones and 4 semitones ( E3-C#7)
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses:Recognisable voice that has a soft and sweet head voice, and a punchy, attitude infused chest voice that has a slight rasp to it. Her lower range is texturally thick, and has a darker colouring than the rest of her range.
Vocal Negatives: Criticisms have been levelled at her actual vocal ability when live and recorded vocals are contrasted. Her live voice doesn't appear to have the range, stamina, or tuning that the recorded vocals would suggest it does. Whether these changes are due to nerves hampering her ability during live shows, or studio trickery having been used to achieve the original vocals is debatable.

Rihanna Vocal Range

Vocal type: Lyric-Contralto
Vocal Range: 3 octaves 2 notes(B2- D6)
Whistle Register: No
Vocal Pluses: Distinct tone that makes Rihanna's voice easily identifiable. Voice sounds best in it's low to mid range- as heard in the verses of Russian Roulette- where it finds a solid tone that has a slightly smoky quality to it.

Rihanna's belting range has improved in recent years; where previously her voice was nasal and thin, it now has a degree of strength and weight to it, sounding correctly placed- Listen to Only girl (in the world).

Rhianna's head voice is soft and airy with a sweet and warm tone and is capable of switching quickly and effortlessly into that part of her range. She has the ability to hold notes for lengths of time, while maintaining its dynamics and tone, as well being capable of singing vocal runs with apparent ease.

Vocal Negatives: Rihanna's voice can still sound nasal at times, particularly in live performances.
